When it comes to home surveillance, many people are looking for tiny spy cameras like the ones you would find in a James Bond movie. Sadly, those are in a movie for a reason (because they are unrealistic) but there are some pretty small security cameras out there that can covertly keep an eye on your home, office, storage unit or anything else you want to keep tabs on.
The Compro CS80, a security camera that measures about the same size as a business card or credit card, is one of these cameras. Large surveillance cameras usually act as deterrents to intruders, though they can sometimes become targets as well. Smaller cameras can go unnoticed and are therefore more likely to capture the crime as it happens.
The Compro CS80 features the “world’s smallest 2MP cube network camera” and, despite its rather minimal credentials, is crammed with enough features to help protect your property or livelihood. This camera is triggered by motion sensors and is capable of capturing video at up to 1,600 x 1,200 resolution at 15 frames per second (fps) with video compressed into H.264 and M-JPEG formats.
If the camera detects something, users can program real-time SMS and email alert messages while camera footage can be watched on an iPhone or Android smartphone with the aid of a compatible app or through a web browser. In addition to that, users will be able to zoom into live video with the integrated 10x digital zoom.
The Compro CS80 is also outfitted with a built-in microphone, allowing you to hear everything that is going on at the other end of the camera. Installation is also an easy process as the Compro CS80 only needs to be plugged in via the boxed-in cable and then the camera software needs to be installed.
