Vivotek Introduces World’s Smallest Fixed Dome Camera

Vivotek FD8136Vivotek has just announced that it is launching the world’s smallest network-based fixed dome camera. This new device, known as the Vivotek FD8136, measures in at 90mm in diameter and a reported installation time of under two minutes.

The FD8136 comes with a 1MP sensor, which allows you to have a viewing resolution of 1,280 x 800 at 30 frames per second (fps). In addition to that, this camera supports the industry-standard H.264 compression technology, significantly reducing your file sizes and conserving bandwidth.

This camera is also compatible with MPEG-4 and MJPEG, which allows you to transmit video streams in any of these formats for different applications. The FD8136 also comes with selectable focal lengths suitable for a plethora of different environments such as offices, elevators, college campuses, store fronts or parking garages.

Vivotek’s new camera also allows recording to take place independently on the camera itself with a built-in SD/SDHC card slot for on-board storage. User-friendly installations, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and a number of advanced features make the new FD8136 a great universal surveillance camera.

Vivotek’s smallest network-based fixed dome camera in the world, the FD8136, will be available in Q2 2012 in a package deal that also includes the Vivotek ST7501 32-channel recording software.
